Statement of Faith:

As a member of the Apostolic Church we share their Statement of Faith. These are the following 11 tenets…

Our first tenet helps us to understand who God is and what He is like:

The one true and living God who eternally exists in three persons in unity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

(Deuteronomy 6:4, Genesis 1:26, Matthew 28:19, Ephesians 4:6 & Matthew 6:9, John 20:28 & John 1:1-4, Acts 5:3-4 & 2 Corinthians 3:17.)

Our second tenet explains the need for, and the way of Salvation:

‘The inherent corruptness of man through the Fall; The necessity of repentance and regeneration by grace and through faith in Christ alone and the eternal separation from God of the finally unrepentant’

(Psalm 51:5, Romans 3:10, 23, 7:24, Matthew 25:41, 46, Acts 2:38, 17:30, 2 Corinthians 5:17.)

Our third tenet states that the Person and Works of Jesus are central to our faith, now and for eternity:

‘The Virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, triumphant resurrection, ascension and continuing intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ; His second coming and millennial reign upon earth..’

(Matthew 1:23-25, Hebrews 4:15, 1 Peter 2:24, Hebrews 7:26-27, Matthew 28:5-6, Hebrews 7:25, Romans 8:34, Matthew 24:30, 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17, Revelation 20:1-15.)

Our fourth tenet states that through Christ alone we are made right with God, and enabled to live our lives to please Him, and to grow more like Him:

‘The justification and sanctification of the believer through the finished work of Christ.’

(Romans 3:24, 28, Romans 5:1-9, 1 Corinthians 6:11, Romans 6:6, 11-14. )

Our fifth tenet outlines the promise for all believers that helps us live fruitful and effective Christian lives:

‘The baptism of the Holy spirit for believers with supernatural signs, empowering the church for its mission in the world.’

(Luke 3:16, Luke 11:9-13, Acts 1:4-5, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 8:14-17, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 10:46, Acts 19:6, Ephesians 5:18.)

Our sixth tenet outlines how Christians may be built up together and strengthened in their faith:

‘The gifts of the Holy Spirit for the building up of the Church and ministry to the world.’

(1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Romans 12:3-8, 1 Corinthians 14:3, 26.)

Our seventh tenet outlines the two sacraments that Christ taught us to do:

‘The sacraments of baptism by immersion, and of the Lord’s Supper.’

(Matthew 28:19, Acts 8:12, Acts 8:36-38, Acts 19:5, Romans 6:3-7, Luke 22:19-20, Acts 2:42, 1 Corinthians 11:23-32.)

Our eighth tenet outlines how highly we view the Bible:

‘The divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures.’

(2 Timothy 3:16)

Our ninth tenet has traditionally made us unique as a fellowship:

‘Christ’s leadership of the Church through apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers, elders and deacons, for unity, maturity and growth of the church.’

(Ephesians 4:8-16, Ephesians 1:1, 2 Corinthians 11:28, 12:12, Acts 14:21-23, Acts 13:1-3, Acts 21:10-11, Acts 8, Acts 21:8, Acts 20:17-38, 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4, Acts 6:2-3, Acts 6:6, 1 Timothy 3:8-13.)

Our tenth tenet states that salvation is certain for those who continue in their relationship with Christ:

‘The security of the believer as he remains in Christ.’

(Hebrews 6:4-6, Colossians 1:21-23, 2 Peter 2:20-22, Revelation 22:19, Romans 11:20-22.)

Our eleventh tenet outlines the Biblical model for supporting God’s work financially:

‘The privilege and responsibility of bringing tithes and offerings to the Lord.’

(Proverbs 3:9-10, Malachi 3:10, Genesis 28:22, 1 Corinthians 16:2.)
